This Privacy Policy explains how the Japa Mala Counterapp (“the app”) for Android, published by Charyx Labs, handles your information. It applies only to this app — not to other Charyx Labs apps or the charyxlabs.tech website.

Japa Mala Counter is a japa (mala) counter for tracking mantra repetitions. Your mantras, bead counts, daily totals, streaks and settings are stored only on your device.

Nothing you record leaves your device: the app shows no ads, contains no analytics or tracking, and has no internet access, so it cannot send your data anywhere. We, the developer, never see what you record in the app.

Because this data stays on your device, Charyx Labs cannot access, receive, or export it. You can erase it at any time with Settings → Delete all data; clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app removes it too.

The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting service, and it does not use your Android Advertising ID. It has no permission to use the internet at all — you can check this in the app's permission list on Google Play or in Android settings.

The app does not ask for or collect:

• Your name, email address, or phone number
• Your contacts, calendar, SMS, or call logs
• Location of any kind
• Photos, media, microphone, or camera input
• Your Android Advertising ID, or any other device identifier
• Analytics, crash reports, or usage tracking
• Any account sign-in — the app has no login

Each permission has one job, and none of them sends your data anywhere.

• Notifications — Shows the optional daily reminder. Asked for only when you turn reminders on, and you can withdraw it in Android settings.
• Alarms & reminders — Lets the reminder arrive on time. Optional: you grant or withdraw it in Android settings.
• Run at startup — Re-arms your reminder after the phone restarts.
• Prevent phone from sleeping — Held briefly while the home-screen widget updates.
• Vibration — A tick for each bead and a longer buzz at the end of each mala. You can switch it off in the app's settings.

The app includes these third-party components:

Nowhere, unless you send it yourself. The app has no internet access, so it cannot transmit anything.

Your data leaves the device only when you choose:

• Back up to a file: saves a copy of your data wherever you choose, such as your phone's storage or a cloud drive you already use. We never receive it.
• Phone-to-phone transfer (Android 12 and later): when you set up a new phone, Android can copy the app's data straight from your old one. The app opts out of Google's cloud backup, so nothing is stored online.

We do not sell or share data. We never receive any.

Your data is kept on your device until you erase it with Settings → Delete all data, clear the app’s storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Because the app sends us nothing, we hold no app data about you.

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR (and UK GDPR) applies. What you record in the app stays on your device, under your control; Charyx Labs does not collect or process it.

If you email us, Charyx Labs is the controller of that correspondence. We use it only to reply, relying on our legitimate interest in answering you, and delete it on request.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of any personal data we hold, and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise a right, contact us ✉.

Under India’s DPDP Act, 2023, you may access, correct, and erase your personal data and nominate another person to exercise your rights. To exercise these rights or raise a concern, contact our Grievance Officer:

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA applies. The app does not collect personal information, and we do not sell or share personal information. If you email us, we use your message only to reply. You have the right to know, delete, and correct any information we hold about you, and you will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Requests: Send Mail ✉.

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. It is listed on Google Play for adults (18 and over). If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us ✉ and we will remove it.

If you write to us — for example from the app’s feedback option — we receive what you send. The app may pre-fill details such as the app version, Android version and device model so we can help; you see them, and can edit them, before sending. We use your message only to reply, and delete it on request.

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date above will change. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
