PowerSmith Energy — An operations portal for a San Diego solar company
Charyx Labs built PowerSmith Energy a React marketing site and a full operations portal: 15 screens across Rep, Team and Admin roles, a referral and affiliate programme mirrored into GoHighLevel, a commission engine that generates PDF statements on the server, an org chart, rep onboarding and training, and digital business cards with QR codes for every rep.

The problem
- Referrals arrived by text and memory, so nobody could prove who sourced a deal when commission was due.
- Commission was calculated by hand each cycle, which does not survive a growing rep roster.
- New reps were onboarded person-to-person, so the quality of onboarding depended on who happened to do it.
What we built
- A React and Vite marketing site, and a FastAPI + MongoDB operations portal with Rep, Team and Admin access levels across 15 screens.
- Referral and affiliate routing mirrored into GoHighLevel, so the CRM stays the system of record rather than being replaced.
- A commission engine deriving payouts from deal size, with server-generated PDF statements.
- A live org chart, structured rep onboarding, SOPs, and digital business cards with QR codes.
- AI content tooling built on the Anthropic SDK with structured outputs; media stored on Cloudflare R2.
- Monitoring that surfaces failures before the client notices them.
Outcomes
- 54 API endpoints and five Claude-powered engines running in production.
- Referral attribution is provable rather than remembered, which is what makes commission arguments stop.
- Rep onboarding is repeatable: a new rep is added to the portal rather than trained from scratch.

Questions about this build
Does the operations portal replace GoHighLevel?
No. It mirrors into GoHighLevel rather than replacing it. The CRM stays the system of record, and the portal adds the referral attribution, commission and org-chart layer that a CRM does not provide.
How is commission calculated?
Commission is derived from deal size by a rules engine, and each cycle produces a PDF statement generated on the server. No spreadsheet is maintained by hand.
