How the Digital Tasbih Counter app handles your data.

About this policy

This Privacy Policy explains how the Digital Tasbih Counterapp (“the app”) for Android, published by Charyx Labs, handles your information. It applies only to this app — not to other Charyx Labs apps or the charyxlabs.tech website.

Effective date: 22 October 2026. Last updated: 22 October 2026.

02

The short version

Digital Tasbih Counter is a dhikr (tasbih) counter with prayer times, a Qibla compass and the Hijri calendar. Your counts (each day's phrases and completed sets), your own phrases and sets, the place you chose for prayer times and your settings are stored only on your device. If you tap "Use my location", the app reads your approximate location once, turns it into the name of the nearest town on your device and keeps it with your settings to work out prayer times and the direction of the Qibla. It never leaves your device: the app has no internet access.

Nothing you record leaves your device: the app shows no ads, contains no analytics or tracking, and has no internet access, so it cannot send your data anywhere. We, the developer, never see what you record in the app. When you buy the app, Google Play gives us a record of the sale, without your name, email address or payment details.

03

Data stored on your device

Your counts (each day's phrases and completed sets), your own phrases and sets, the place you chose for prayer times and your settings are stored only on your device. If you tap "Use my location", the app reads your approximate location once, turns it into the name of the nearest town on your device and keeps it with your settings to work out prayer times and the direction of the Qibla. It never leaves your device: the app has no internet access.

Because this data stays on your device, Charyx Labs cannot access, receive, or export it. You can erase it at any time with Settings → Delete all data; clearing the app’s storage or uninstalling the app removes it too.

04

No ads, analytics or tracking

The app contains no advertising, no analytics and no crash-reporting service, and it does not use your Android Advertising ID. It has no permission to use the internet at all — you can check this in the app's permission list on Google Play or in Android settings.

05

Buying the app

You buy Digital Tasbih Counter on Google Play. Google takes the payment, and handles refunds, under its own terms and the Google Privacy Policy; we never see your payment details. For our accounts and taxes, Google Play gives us a record of each sale: an order number, the date, the price and tax, the model of the device it was bought on, and the buyer’s country and state or region, and in some countries their city and postcode. It never includes your name, email address or payment details, and nothing in it is linked to what you do in the app. We use these records only for accounting and tax, keep them as long as the law requires, and share them only with our accountant and, where the law requires, the tax authorities.

06

Data we do not collect

The app does not ask for or collect:

  • Your name, email address, or phone number
  • Your contacts, calendar, SMS, or call logs
  • Your location: it is used on your device for prayer times and the Qibla, and never sent to us or anyone else
  • Photos, media, microphone, or camera input
  • Your Android Advertising ID, or any other device identifier
  • Analytics, crash reports, or usage tracking
  • Any account sign-in — the app has no login
07

Permissions the app asks for

Each permission has one job, and none of them sends your data anywhere.

  • Approximate location — Asked for only when you tap "Use my location", to work out prayer times and the direction of the Qibla where you are. You can choose a city from the list instead, and the app works fully without this permission.
  • Notifications — Tells you when the time of a prayer you chose begins. Asked for only when you turn a prayer notification on, and you can withdraw it in Android settings.
  • Alarms & reminders — Lets a prayer notification arrive on time. Optional: you grant or withdraw it in Android settings.
  • Run at startup — Re-arms the next prayer notification after the phone restarts.
  • Prevent phone from sleeping — Held briefly while the home-screen widget updates.
  • Vibration — A tick for each count, two knocks when a phrase is done and three pulses at the end of a round. You can switch it off in the app's settings.

Third-party SDKs

The app includes these third-party components:

Android Jetpack (AndroidX) libraries

Provider: Google LLC. Open-source building blocks of the app: its screens, the on-device database and the home-screen widget. They run on your device and send nothing anywhere.

Policy & data use ↗

Adhan prayer times library

Provider: Batoul Apps (open source, MIT licence). Works out prayer times from the sun's position, on your device. It is pure calculation: it has no network access and sends nothing anywhere.

Policy & data use ↗

Google Play In-App Review

Provider: Google LLC. Occasionally lets you rate the app without leaving it. The rating card is shown by the Google Play Store app under Google's own privacy policy; this app sends nothing.

Where your data goes

Nowhere, unless you send it yourself. The app has no internet access, so it cannot transmit anything.

Your data leaves the device only when you choose:

  • Back up to a file: saves a copy of your counts, phrases, sets and settings wherever you choose, such as your phone's storage or a cloud drive you already use. We never receive it.
  • Phone-to-phone transfer (Android 12 and later): when you set up a new phone, Android can copy the app's data straight from your old one. The app opts out of Google's cloud backup, so nothing is stored online.

We do not sell or share data. Apart from Google Play's record of your purchase, described above, we never receive any.

10

Data retention & deletion

Your data is kept on your device until you erase it with Settings → Delete all data, clear the app’s storage in Android settings, or uninstall the app. Because the app sends us nothing, we hold no app data about you. We keep Google Play's record of your purchase as long as tax law requires.

Every option is set out on the data deletion page.

11

EEA & UK — your GDPR rights

If you are in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, the GDPR (and UK GDPR) applies. What you record in the app stays on your device, under your control; Charyx Labs does not collect or process it.

If you email us, Charyx Labs is the controller of that correspondence. We use it only to reply, relying on our legitimate interest in answering you, and delete it on request.

For Google Play’s record of your purchase, Charyx Labs is the controller, relying on its legal obligation to keep accounting and tax records.

You have the right to access, correct, delete, restrict, or object to the processing of any personal data we hold, and to data portability. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. To exercise a right, contact us ✉.

12

India — Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023

Under India’s DPDP Act, 2023, you may access, correct, and erase your personal data and nominate another person to exercise your rights. To exercise these rights or raise a concern, contact our Grievance Officer:

13

California — CCPA / CPRA

If you are a California resident, the CCPA/CPRA applies. The app does not collect personal information, and we do not sell or share personal information. If you email us, we use your message only to reply. You have the right to know, delete, and correct any information we hold about you, and you will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Requests: Send Mail ✉.

When you buy the app, Google Play gives us a record of the sale: the purchase, your device model and your postcode. We use it only for accounting and tax.

14

Children

The app is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your country), and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. It is listed on Google Play for adults (18 and over). If you believe a child has provided data through the app, contact us ✉ and we will remove it.

15

If you email us

If you write to us — for example from the app’s feedback option — we receive what you send. The app may pre-fill details such as the app version, Android version and device model so we can help; you see them, and can edit them, before sending. We use your message only to reply, and delete it on request.

16

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy; the “Last updated” date above will change. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or on this page.
